Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, transfer to FABRIANO and visit the city, whose history is linked to paper: it is one of the very few cities in the world where paper is still made by hand. Visit of the historic center: the Palazzo del Podestà, the Sturinalto fountain, the Cathedral of San Venanzio with its frescoes, the Town Hall, the numerous churches, the Gentile Theater. Followed by a visit to the paper mill and paper museum, the place where the keeper of words and thoughts that span the centuries comes to life. Possibility to participate in the creation of the sheet of paper. Free lunch during the visit. At the end, transfer to the EREMO DI FONTE AVELLANA and visit the complex, whose origins date back to the end of the 10th century, around 980, known above all for the writing activity of the amanuensis monks who obeyed the provisions of the Rule of San Benedetto and they made precious illuminated manuscripts, as the ancient Scriptorium still testifies today. Also of considerable value is the Library which today contains almost all the ancient book patrimony of Fonte Avellana which consists of about 20,000 volumes (the oldest book is an incunabulum of 1470).
